Weight Loss Scams

Why is it, that at least once a year, there is a new weight loss “program” that is introduced?

I think it’s pretty obvious, if there was some miracle weight loss method, program or pill — that the pharmaceutical companies would have snatched it up and began marketing it for BIG BUCKS, rather then some 3am infomercial or viral internet campaigns.

There is NO quick answer, that is healthy, for losing extra food weight. I say food weight, because I understand that there are conditions and certain medications that cause weight gain, but I’m not addressing those right now.

The easiest way to lose weight is through lifestyle changes. Eat better, exercise more and talking about the causes, if eating is for psychological reasons. Please don’t throw your money at the latest “fad diet”! If in doubt, ask YOUR doctor, and get a 2nd opinion after that!

A great example is the Acai Berry scheme. Acai berries are simply just that: berries. Acai berries can be a PART of a well-balanced diet but Acai berries is not a “magical weight loss” berry. Not anymore so then blueberries or strawberries. They are just exotic berries coming from Brazil, it’s just a “new to mainstream US” berry!

The bottom line. Our bodies were not designed to be surgically or chemically altered to lessen food intake. Grab a piece of fruit and take a jog if you want to be healthy, not just carrying around less weight…

If you live in an area where exercising outside is out of the question, try a gym membership!

It’s totally ridiculous that companies keep churning out these “fast weight loss” products that are nothing more than a few berries with high anti-oxidant properties. All the Acai products littering the market right now are a total scam. But what’s even more ridiculous is that people keep on buying these types of products! It’s just plain stupid. In my opinion, if people are silly enough to fall for the crazy claims made by these companies – they deserve to have their $20 (or whatever it is) taken from them as quickly as possible.

Like you said, if there was a miracle berry that would strip 5lbs of fat a week while you sat down all day and ate even more than you did before – it would have been snapped up and marketed by the big budget boys from the big pharma companies a long time ago.

It’s just laziness. People are always looking for a quick fix. A quick solution to a problem that has no quick solution. Everyone knows deep down that the only way to lose weight and keep it off it to make permanent lifestyle changes. And those changes should include a healthier diet (no junk) and regular exercise. And regular exercise doesn’t have to mean slogging out in the gym for hours on end. All it takes is going out for a walk. Or taking the kids swimming. Or something else you enjoy that involves physical activity. It all counts.

I have to agree with you. The best and safest way to lose fat,not weight (muscle weighs more than fat) is to eat healthy and excercise. People are too lazy and want the easy way out, so they rely on diet pills; been there done that… About the acai berry, I don’t have enough information about it to comment.
