Teeth Whitening Scams

in Consumer Alerts

If you are online, you have seen the ads for teeth whitening.

I am sure some are legit, but many are NOT.

When most consumers see “free sample” they assume, it’s just that: a free sample. Sometimes, there is a small shipping charge (red flag)…

The reason that there is a “small shipping charge” is so that the company can get hold of your credit card information. Not to “steal it”, but to charge you the $100+ in membership fees that you, most likely, unknowingly agreed to by accepting the “free sample”.

And by the time most people notice, it’s hundreds of dollars and nothing they can do about it later.

Use a pre-paid card with a low balance on it, or just skip these types of “free sample” offers all together.

The hot one lately is for teeth whitening products, so keep your eyes open and read that fine print!
