Mystery Shopping

Mystery Shopping can be well, a mystery. I have done many mystery shops, but since I moved, I haven’t done as many. But I do miss the income, that’s for sure!

My new buddy Ari, over at Atl Deal Finder, has a great write-up on how to get started in Mystery Shopping. She also lists the legit companies and what to watch out for when getting started with Mystery Shopping!

Even if you have a full time job, these shops are so short, that you can get them done on your lunch break ( there are many restaurant shops! ) or while running your normal errands. Even weekend activities ( sports venues, etc have shops as well! ) The best thing is that you can make your own schedule with mystery shopping.

Check out Ari’s great post on Mystery Shopping to learn more!

As someone who has both been a secret shopper (for Longhorn Steakhouse) and worked for a company that employed a lot of secret shoppers/gamblers (Harrah’s) let me stress you should never have to pay to become a secret shopper. That being said one thing I found as a secret shopper for Longhorn Steakhouse is oftentimes companies outsource their secret shopping. They want to show marked improvement for what the company is paying for the service… and well… if you are critical you might get less shops. At least I found that in my experience with Longhorn.
