KFC COUPON RIOTS

UPDATE: The first 200 people to register on KFC.com each day will receive $10 in KFC gift checks which may be used toward the purchase of KFC’s new Kentucky Grilled Chicken for their mothers. If you haven’t heard, television Queen Oprah teamed up with KFC to give away coupons for a KFC 2-piece grilled chicken meal. It was a simple concept, print out a coupon and get your free meal.

Until… the online coupon printer went wonky and thousands of people could not print their KFC coupon! In something resembling mass hysteria, people flooded KFC and the Oprah show prompting some now, ex employee, to post a .pdf copy of the Free Grilled Chicken Meal coupon at KFC. Now, the problem lies with the .pdf coupon. The reason the coupon printer was needed is being it assigns a unique code to the coupon so it can’t be used more then once. The .pdf coupon (1234 UPC number) HAD THE SAME CODE so thousands, if not millions of people have the SAME EXACT coupon…

KFC has decided NOT TO HONOR the .pdf coupon that was posted on the Oprah site (it’s since been deleted). Patrons were met with a sign on the door that read “We are not accepting internet coupons”.

The public is not tolerating being unable to use the Free KFC Chicken coupon. Sit in’s, racial slurs, and people who actually wanted to pay for chicken, they are facing a potential assault from the crazy-eyed mobs! Witnesses have stated that managers have ran away from local KFC’s screaming, while some have been in the fetal position since opening.

Is this a sign of times to come? In this economic crisis, if a KFC coupon can spark mass hysteria, I can’t imagine if we ran out of a common staple….
